Sidelights

A sidelight is a glazed opening adjacent to a door. A room with a sidelight will feel more open from the inside and more welcoming from the outside. A person can glance into an office or conference room to determine if it is occupied before entering. An occupant can see a visitor approach. Thus sidelights create a more welcoming feeling from the outside and a more secure feeling from the inside.

Widths vary, but typically a sidelight to an office or conference room door might be 1 1/2 feet wide.
