Purpose
The purpose of this blog is to keep relatives and friends up to date about my battle against lung cancer and to make a record of the events for my own edification.
When this all started I thought that it was very simple and straight forward. My cancer was BAC (broncho-alveolar carcinoma, a slow growing version and fully contained. The preferred treatment is a lobectomy or sometimes a segmentectomy. I imagined the lobectomy as “they just whack off a part of the lung.”
As time passes and I learn more, I have realized how complicated the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer is. Today (May 2) I realize how lucky I have been and have hope for a full recovery, less a portion of my left lung.
