It was wonderful to speak with you both yesterday and hear all the good news and the wry, chuckling way of telling it you both have, and which so delights this old friend, and I'm sure others! Loved the pancake theme that seems to be developing here (very vivid image of the transfer)! Couldn't quite figure out the photo at first (was it an arm or what?), but now I can am doubly amazed at the skill of the surgeons. Have a happy recuperative time up at the lake. Much love from London, as ever, from Annette xo

We are SO relieved. For a while there we thought we might not be able to take advantage of your hospitality in your lovely vacation home this summer. We, of course, have YOUR well-being foremost in our mind. Sounds like you will be well enough to cook, shop, entertain, sail and rake the beach for us. Oh boy!!! ;-)

We are, in fact, very happy for you both. And we'd watch the TV-assisted lung surgery but we don't have cable.

Love, Your serious cousin and his dear spouse, David & Karen

Wonderful news Charles. Does sound like you had about the best medical team around. Can you shortly go off to the beautiful lake to speed that recovery?
   Best to you both. Ben

No, they removed the entire upper left lobe, which contained all of the nodule (and the cancer). The nodule was around 1.5 cm and no other cancer was found after they removed the lobe. They removed 20 lymph nodes and all were clear. This is about as good as it gets. The cancer is typed "1a". Thanks for your concern and caring. Charles

Charles; in rereading your last two postings, it sounds like they were able to get the nodule without taking part of your lung, is this correct? That would be so wonderful. Sarah
